A Very Merry Christmas...

Since the beginning of November we have been planning and anticipating this last week... and boy did it live up to our hopes. Somewhere in the past month our little boy has fallen in love with Christmas and all that comes with it... He has perfected phrases such as "More Santa Please!", "Open Presents?", "Choo Choo movie Please!" He has loved it so much that we have started the "Christmas Phasing Out Process" because I am pretty sure this kid would be devastated if we didn't watch the first 15 minutes of Polar Express at least every couple days... and we still do the Serendipity Santa on nights where bath and bed time are a little more challenging than usual.
So now I sit here in hopes of capturing all of the fabulous memories made this week... and I will start with a late night on the 22nd where we took Bennett out to look at Christmas lights... Bennett definitely liked the lights yelling "pretty!" out the window and got the tired jollies all the way home.
On Christmas Eve we enjoyed the day with Grandma & Grandpa Olsen. They came all the way down south to watch Bennett open presents.... and I think his cute reactions lived up to their hopes. He opened ALL the presents even the ones that were for other people. But his exagerated reaction of screaming excitement and "WOW!" was nearly the same for the train set and mom's Tupperware.... hilarious! It was a great afternoon with Grandpas famous dip, homemade cinnamon rolls and great family. Bennett even fit in an eventful trip to the mall with Dad and Grandpa :)

That evening we started in on some of our little family's Christmas Eve traditions, we made popcorn, watched Polar Express (of course), put out cookies for Santa and read "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" in bed.
Somehow Bennett knew it was Christmas as soon as his eyes opened at a bright and early 6am. I went in there and said "Guess who came?! Santa" and he yelled and screamed and tore into the living room... We had a great morning opening presents, drinking coffee and "chacha ilk" (chocolate milk) and around 9 we packed up for the day at Grandma & Grandpa Jones'.
Upon arriving nearly immediately Bennett jumped right into the present thing once again and was definitely the source of great laughter all morning. We spent the rest of the day in Christmas Pajamas with all the cousins playing with toys and enjoying family. We dined on Grandmas famous prime rib dinner which was wonderful as always! What a great way to spend our Christmas!
